The First Day of Sailing Promises an Exciting Week

Sunny blue skies and wind conditions were in favour of sailing teams at the 17th Royal Langkawi International Regatta 2019 today, with winds between 7 and 10 knots gusting at 17 knots, around the Kuah Bras Habour Course.

Principal Race Officer of the 17th Royal Langkawi International Regatta 2019, Simon James said good weather for today’s sailing made it possible for two races for all classes except Ocean Rover/ White Sail.

Emerging victorious in the Racing Class was non-other than Team Hollywood, skippered by Ray Roberts –at the top spot with a score of 2, and the team won both of the races, they participated in.

THA72, skippered by Kevin Whitcraft took on the second spot with a score of 4, while SCS Janda Baik, skippered by Mohd Khairul and Shahril Zakaria, secured the third place with a score of 7.

In the IRC 1 class, Mata Hari KL Registry managed to fend off Char Chan in both races to become triumphant.
