Budimas Donates RM 216K To Kedah Charitable Homes

Chairman of the Budimas Charitable Foundations Presented RM 108,000 to two Children Shelters in the State of Kedah

Langkawi, 12 January 2019 The Budimas Charitable Foundation brought cheer, and more importantly, hope to two children charitable homes in the state of Kedah by contributing RM216, 000 at the closing ceremony of the 17th Royal Langkawi International Regatta 2019. The event took place at the Kuah Bras Habour Course, Langkawi. The chairman of the foundation, Tunku Dato’ Yaacob Khyra presented the two mock cheques with the value of RM 108,000 each to the caretakers of the beneficiary homes which are Rumah Nur Kasih, Langkawi and Pusat Harian Sinar Harapan, Alor Setar, Kedah. The amount was collected through the corporate social responsibility programme of Royal Langkawi Yacht Club with Budimas as part of their pledge and dedication towards giving back to the society.

Rumah Nur Kasih, Langkawi is an all-boys orphanage that is currently housing 64 children aged between 7 to 9 years whilst Pusat Harian Sinar Harapan, Alor Setar is a center for children with disability to learn skills and special education. These two homes were chosen as beneficiaries to alleviate their burden and financial constrain as well as to improve the spirit of society in the state of Kedah.

“For the past 20 years, we have been fulfilling our mission which is to provide a future of love and hope for underprivileged children. Over the years, we have witnessed the marvellous results of our intervention by the children we caught in the cycle of abuse, neglect and abandonment. We are truly honoured to have our Prime Minister, Tun Mahathir Bin Mohamad advocating our efforts and blessed to have organisations like the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club supporting our cause as without people like them, it is almost impossible for us to reach out to our children that are in need” said Tunku Dato’ Yaacob Khyra.

Meanwhile, Rumah Nur Kasih Manager, Wan Nur Maizan Azizan, said that they were grateful for the contribution as it will ensure security of managing operations of the home for a couple of years. “This contribution allows the children at our home to have a chance at a bright future as we will have sufficient funding for their education too” said, Wan Nur Maizan Azizan.

The Budimas Charitable Foundation currently supports 60 charitable homes across Malaysia under the Budimas Home Charity Fund (BHCF), built and operating 7 libraries for the children of the Orang Asli communities via the Budimas Education Charity Fund (BECF) as well as provide breakfast to over 4,000 the less fortunate children in 113 schools across Malaysia. These programmes helps over 8,000 underprivileged children of Malaysia every year.
