Today is training day for the participants, workers and volunteers involved in the 14th Royal Langkawi International Regatta – five full days of sea-bashing, teeth-jarring and action-packed international yacht racing at the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club (RLYC).
It will be a four-way race in the 14th Royal Langkawi International Regatta 2016 Multihull class which features Tunku Soraya Dakhlah’s Manta Blu; Allegro with Bob McIntyre at the helm; IMAGE asia Nina owned by Grenville Fordham and Bob Mott, and WOW led by David Liddell.

LANGKAWI, 13 January. – Simon James, the PRO set Race 3 and Race 4 for the 14th Royal Lankgawi International Regatta (RLIR) 2016 as Race Day 2 dawned with clear bright blue skies, no clouds and a steady breeze of 8-10 knots out of the NE. Perfect racing conditions here on Kuah Harbour.

The 14th Royal Langkawi International Regatta is the first time this all-girl crew is sailing together although some of them have sailed separately in other competitions and on other boats.

LANGKAWI, 14 January. - Race Day 3 of the 14th Royal Langkawi International Regatta moved outside of Kuah Harbour into 'The Flats' or Coastal Course – an area on the east coast of Langkawi where the sea runs heavier and the breeze is fresher with no restricting land or structures around.

LANGKAWI, 15 January. – There is always a hype at regattas in Malaysia when the name Jeremy Koo turns up on the skippers’ list. At this stage there is no need to list his accolades but it suffices to say that Koo is one of the country’s most experienced yachtsmen and the only Malaysia to have participated in the America’s Cup.

LANGKAWI, 15 January. - Race Day 4 of the 14th RLIR 2016 got off to a late start. The breeze just wasn't there until around 11.30am and began filling in on the eastern edge of the harbour.
