EAGLE NEWSLETTER 2008
I was sitting in the LONGTZE LANGKAWI-GEOPARK listening to an upbeat JANDI recording on the HI FI, when in walked ELOISE wearing a new FULL METAL JACKET.
She had her BABY TONGA with her, and son RUSALKA.
The two kids began doing a MAMBA to the music, looking like TWIN SHARKS in a game of TAG!
"Enough," I cried, let's go see JANDA BAIK who has a new TROPIC BIRD that's come all the way from RAIMON LAND. On the way we stopped at the LUNCHCUTTER II for a KATSU sandwich, but the kids really wanted a snack at MYA-KFC. We left them there with MY TOY, a video game of XCATRIOT, and wandered down to the pub to see who was there.
Just after I had ordered a drink from ZUHAL, the barman, in walked Hari with a gloomy look. I said, "YO! What's the MATA HARI?"
"Oh dear," he said, "I've just got results from the MICROLAB and I've got CEBERUS SMU. But with a shot of MOTO INZI I should be all right"
Just then, in walked THAI RAVER with a couple of girls - AMANDLA STAR and Lea QUANTUM. They were TWIN MAGIC, very beautiful and my legs turned to JELIK. It's a good thing the BRISBANE BOYS weren’t there. They were on their way to PHOENIX! I briefly thought about joining them as there was a special QUANTUM offer from THAI INTERNATIONAL, but then everything was SOFA SO GOOD, so I just sat back and had a beer!
And So They Shall Eat..and Eat...and Eat...
Regulars at Charlie's Place will undoubtedly have noticed Ahmad Jasmani Abdullah rushing around, serving customers, drawing a few beers and still managing to find time to say "Hello" to everyone there. It is Jasmani's job to make sure everything runs smoothly in the food and beverage department at the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club. At 41 years of age, Jasmani is the food and beverage manager here at the club and he's been here for 12 years since RLYC first opened.
Starting as a pan scrubber at the Hyatt hotel in Kuantan at the age of 18 he scrubbed is way up the ladder. Jasmani moved to Langkawi in 1987 to work at the Langkawi Island resort just down the road from the RLYC. This large hotel later became known as the Sheraton and is today the Westin. Enjoying the relatively quiet life of Langkawi Island, Jasmani lives here with his wife and four children.
During the Royal Langkawi International Regatta’s six-day event this year, Jasmani and his staff served up to 800 plates per day and 200 barrels of beer were specially ordered to quench the thirst of the sun parched participants. The F&B department also prepared more than 300 lunch boxes each day for participants and the media to take out.
