Ting's interest in race management stems from when he met our PRO Mark Pryke at a management clinic in Qingdao, China, in 2001. Subsequently in 2003 Ting was the organizer for the International Optomist Dinghy Association (IODA) holding their Asian Championships in Taiwan. In 2005 he again worked with Mark at the IODA Asian Championships in Thailand, and also in 2006 at the Asian Games in Doha, Qatar, as an official in the Pin Boat for the Optomist class races. Ting says that now that he is semi-retired from his construction business in Taiwan, he should have more time to pursue his interest in Race Management.
