  SEEING PINK BUFFALOES?
  By Jane Clarke
Just in case you thought all that merriment was playing with your vision, let us set your mind at rest. Pink buffalos do actually exist in Langkawi. They are albino buffalos and the unusual colour of their hide is the result of a genetic defect. They are normal in every other way. You may get a chance to see them, in the paddy fields, on route to tonight's presentation and dinner venue at Laman Padi in Pantai Cenang.

Laman Padi (or Rice Garden) is set up as an eco-tourism attraction where visitors can view Malaysia's oldest industry, rice cultivation. Interesting exhibits and genuine artifacts take you through the traditions of rice farming up to the present day.

The Langkawi Eagle is prepared and published by volunteers.
