EAGLE NEWSLETTER 2008

With no parties scheduled for the evening of January 9th, here are some ideas for dinner and entertainment venues.

NIGHT MARKET (Pasar Malam)
Only on Wednesday and Saturday evenings in Kuah, the market and food stalls are set up along the banks of Sungai Kuah. Feast your eyes on the goods for sale and sample a variety of fresh cooked Malaysian "fast food". At the far end of the market, under an arching metal roof is a hawker stall compound featuring all kinds of seafood and local dishes. No beer.

CHARLIE'S PLACE
Located right on the premises of the RLYC. Many of you are already familiar with the bar!

THE PIER
A familiar yachtie hangout, this bar and grill feature Thai and International food and plenty of cold beer.

TEO'S
Also located on Jln Kelana Mas, the Chinese menu gives many choices of meats, including pork dishes, and seafood and there's always beer. A particular favourite lately has been the soft shell crab.

WONDERLAND
Continuing along the same road, this place has an excellent selection of seafood dishes and a very friendly owner who gives the whole place a very personal touch.

YUMMY MUMMY
A new outlet and effort has been made to create a proper restaurant setting complete with nice tablecloths.

TELAGA HARBOR PARK and MARINA
Located further towards the west of the island in Pantai Kok, are a variety of international restaurants, bars and discos.

HOLE IN THE WALL
This restaurant is accessed from the Kilim Jetty. Call Rahmad at 012-562-0015 and he will send a boat to take your party out to his fish farm/aquarium. You can feed the tame sting ray while your menu selection of fresh seafood is being prepared. There’s beer and wine.

WOODPECKER
The name of the disco night club located at the City Bayview Hotel in Kuah town for some after-dinner entertainment.
