EAGLE NEWSLETTER 2008

If there's one boat that's creating big waves it's JELIK. Coming up from Singapore in the Raja Muda and onto the Kings Cup where she won six out of seven races, she is now ready to show everyone how its done here at the Royal Langkawi International Regatta 2008.

A huge 75-foot Riechel & Pugh owned by Hong Kong’s best-known sailor Frank Pong, JELIK was bought in 2003 off Roy Disney after participating in the Transpacific, a 2225 mile race to Honolulu. Frank Pong then took JELIK to her new home in Hebe Haven, Hong Kong. The 14 ton Maxi is operated by crew of 16, most being Filippino but with Hong Kong, Malaysian and Singaporean members.

Yesterday in Race 1 and Race 2, JELIK beat her competitors in the Racing Class by a fair margin. She is in the lead overall but had to settle for third place on Day 2 in both Race 3 and 4.
