Long TzeThere's a new kid on the block and he's a Son of a Dragon. Longtze is how the Chinese say it and this sleek-looking Sports Racer is going to be the boat to beat. A lighter, sandwiched hull composition of vinyl-ester combined with a Thompson design from New Zealand should give the craft great speed and spunk.

And if that were not enough, the two boats, LONGTZE PREMIER and LONGTZE LANGKAWI, are skippered by long-standing America’s Cup sailors - Pierre Mas who has raced in the last three Cup competitions and Thierry Barot who has been competing since 1987.


Long TzeThe Longtze boats are manufactured in Qindao, China, under supervision of Longtze Yachts Ltd. run by skippers Barot and Mas. Delivered especially for this Regatta, the boats are under the eagle-eye of Mohd Affendy Abdullah, the Development Chairman for the National Sailing Centre, who even has his daughter aboard as part of the Langkawi-sourced crew. Affendy told the Eagle that he hopes to pick up a fleet of the new Sports Racers for the Centre.
