In a Word: Fantastic!!Race Day One of the Royal Langkawi International Regatta was run in perfect conditions with a blustery 20-knot wind and only a slight chop in the Bay at Kuah. The early races in the morning were shaded by a cloudy overcast and participants not only finished smartly but with style on the 9, 10 and 12-mile up-wind down-wind courses.

A Few Debut Show

A Few Debut ShowThis year Ben Copley will be racing his brand new boat KATSU in the 2008 Royal Langkawi International Regatta. KATSU is a Swan CS-42, built in Finland, and will have a 10-member crew for the Langkawi series of races. Ben, who lives in Phuket, Thailand, is no stranger to boats or racing, having competed in a number of events in the Asian racing circuit.

Taking the Lead

This is the age of computers. Nearly everyone has one or more. Even the Eagle office has computers. So whatever happened to pencils? You just don't see many pencils anymore. One of my technology literate colleagues calls them extremely-low-speed-data-output-devices. Many feel that the computer has replaced the pencil, but I am not so sure. I used pencils all through my school days, most notably for poking my fellow students.
